About Prakashjot

My yoga journey began in my early teenage years initially with Ashtanga. When I came to England I discovered Kundalini Yoga and began my training as a teacher in 2012.

I studied and graduated with Amrit Nam Sarovar Kundalini Yoga School, where I gained KRI Certification.

 

I teach in Welling and Blackheath. Classes are either 1.5h or 2.5h long - class info and to book...

 

I also trained and qualified as a Sacred Sound Healer and Gong Player with Nadi Gong - Leszek Angulski school in Poland.

I use 35" Royal Tam Tam Gong and Wind Gong, as well as a growing collection of Tibetan Singing Bowls and Shanti Chimes for sound healing. 

I offer the following sound healing sessions:

I've lived all of my adult life in South East London and my goal is to make Kundalini Yoga more accessible and popular in my neighbourhood.

 

My family and I have a cat and tropical aquarium.

Kundalini Yoga & Meditation

Kundalini Yoga (KY) is known as the yoga of awareness and is considered by some to be mother of all yogas. It is a complete yoga system including:

- Kriyas (exercises)

- Mantras (chanting)

- Mudras (hand positions)

- Pranayama (breath work)

- Meditation

The beauty of KY is that it allows you, from day one, to practice at your chosen level of intensity without any prior experience or skill. KY is a very powerful tool with some students seeing profound changes after just a few classes.

KY classes draw from a huge range of kriyas, each designed to strengthen a particular aspect of the mind and body. Different kriyas will target the glandular, immune, lymphatic and nervous systems. KY has been shown to be effective in treating depression, anxiety and physical pain. 

Structure of the class:

- at the start of each class we 'tune in' by chanting Adi Mantra and Mangalacharan Mantra (listen to musical versions    here: Itunes & Spotify)

- the class continues with 1hour of exercise (kriya),

- then a deep relaxation and

- finally a meditation.

To close the class we 'tune out'  by chanting 'Sat Nam' three times. Don't worry about learning these before your first class- you will soon pick them up!

 

Sacred Sound Healing

The sounds generated by Tibetan Singing Bowls and Gongs are a type of energy medicine that promote healing from stress disorders, pain, depression, and most forms of dis-ease.

 

Healing processes are initiated through entraining our brainwaves to synchronise with the perfect resonance of the instruments. Unique Solfeggio tones (healing Hertz frequencies) create the perfect state for deep meditation, creative thinking and intuitive messages. 

 

The pure sonic waves that ring from Tibetan Singing Bowls and Gong wake up our ability to hear with more than our ears. We feel the sound as much as we take it in with our ears.
